Val Gardena, unique place in the world for its natural beauty, belongs to the Dolomites mountains, one of the world's most majestic mountain territories, become part of the Unesco World Heritage list in 2009. Here daring slopes, bizarre erosions, cracks and natural bridges come into dynamic contrast with rides of immaculate lawns, where the gaze is lost on the horizon. The countries where spending a wonderful holiday in Val Gardena are: Selva di Val Gardena, S. Cristina and Ortisei.

The countries are connected by a bus system working well. From the start the lifts to reach the highest areas of Val Gardena, where you can find Gites and Lee that invite you to rest trying tasty dishes of the Val Gaedena: ES. Rifugio Passo Sella (Selva), Gostner (Alpe di Siusi), Baita Ciampac ( Selva), Utia de Reisciesa (Ortisei), Curona hut (S. Cristina).

Also from the countries they leave some beautiful scenic walks to enjoy nature in peace and quiet.

Walking from Ortisei:

-Location val d ’ Anna: departure Seceda, cross the wooden bridge and follow the Rio Anna through the forest for about 20 minutes, then you cross another bridge and follow the path in the Woods until the end of the Valley. Return on the same route.

-Path Geotrail Bulla: panoramic path between passo Pinei and Bulla, through extraordinary geological sites with information boards explaining the history of the Dolomites.

-Path of dialogue: departure from the Church of Ortisei downhill to the junction of Col de Flam, where 4 artistic symbols indicate the trail through serpentine leading to a beautiful view on Ortisei. Return on the same route.

Walks from S. Cristina:

-Val Gardena train: from S. Cristina, in the long 3,5 km were placed signs explaining the Styrian railway. Arrival in Ortisei, duration 1 now.

-Trail “Pana Raida”: departure from Mont de Seura, It crosses several Parks Adventures, meadows and Woods to the natural lake. Duration 1 now.

-Trail S. Giacomo: departure parish square towards Uleta and then continue on to St James with a magnificent view to the Sassolungo and the Greenhouse. Duration 2 hours.

-Trail “Trai Unika”: easy path to 40 minutes where you can admire the wood carvings combined with wonderful views of the peaks of the Dolomites and monte Pana.



Walks from Selva di Val Gardena:

-Naturonda: departure Passo Sella, follow the signs to the Naturonda “City of rocks”. Breathtaking landscape with information boards explaining all about the fauna and flora of the Val Gardena. Return path # 526.

-Vallunga: departure entrance of Vallunga, path # 14, Strolling through the Woods slowly reaches the quota. It then crosses the long Grove of pine trees and the Valley opens again on the pastures and the sheer cliffs at the edge of the trail.

-Panoramic Trail: departure Selva ski school, steep path up to the rooftop terrace. From the statue of the Madonna along path # 12b until Costabella and continue until Vallunga.

High-altitude hiking trails to try are:

-Seurasas: departure St. Cristina- cable car Col Raiser- path # 2- path # 6- S. Cristina. Duration 4 hours. difficulties: easy.

-Alpe di Siusi: departure Ortesei- Alpe di Siusi- path # 9- Saltria- path # 7- path # 531- path # 30- S. Cristina on foot or by chair lift. Duration 5 hours. difficulties: easy.

-Across the Saddle: departure Selva- Dantercepies cablecar- path # 12- Passo Cir- through the ’ alta via Dolomitica n° 2- Step Crespeina- Step Ciampei- Refuge Puez- path # 14- path # 2.4 and n° 16- Selva. Duration 6 hours. difficulties: hard.

Hiking and climbing the Dolomites are the dream of every fan. In Val Gardena there are numerous paths and cliffs for all tastes:

-City of rocks: 29 routes with varying levels of difficulty, also suitable for families.

-Bernardi: 5 fresh tracks of medium difficulty (Athletic climbing)

-Frea: 70 itineraries of varying lengths; beautiful rock to holes with a ’ atmosphere.

-Via ferrata Oskar Schuster: (flat stone 2854 Mt). Departure REF. Sella pass. difficulties: hard.

-Via ferrata delle Mesules: (Piz. Selva 2941 Mt). Departure Passo Sella 2240 Mt. difficulties: very difficult.

-Via ferrata Brigade Tridentina: (REF. Franco Cavazza the Pisciadù 2583 Mt). Departure REF. Franco Cavazza the Pisciadù. difficulties: hard.

MTB tracks:

-Sellaronda MTB tour: 58 km around the Sella Group from one of the ( Selva, CORVARA, Arabba, Canazei, Campitello) with the lifts climb to 4 Dolomite Passes. Tour takes a day.

-Pleasure trail routes: quiet excursions to discover the territory, tasting the gastronomic traditions of the Dolomites.

-Single trails: paths that require a good technical background in the conduct of MTB.

-E-bike trails: long but easy routes for electric MTB. Dirt streets alternate with paved roads.
