Trentino offers many MTB itineraries with varying difficulty, for off road experts or beginners of mountain biking intrigued by the views and nature that can be visited by climbing on two wheels and traveling through the Trentino valleys.

Below we have selected the routes for experts, for beginners and for families, classifying them according to the technical difficulty and the athletic training required.

All selected routes are part of the network of trails in Trentino per biker e trekker:for this reason it is important to have respect for others by not putting your own safety and those of walking the same itineraries at risk.

MTB beginners: paths to get started

The use of the Mountain Bike in the mountains allows you to immerse yourself in the landscape in contact with nature, woods and typical natural elements. And’ important though if you are approaching this off-road discipline, do not venture into routes that are not suitable for your technical and athletic skills, in fact MTB is a rather technical discipline, and the path can be little fun and very difficult if you overestimate your skills. Canazei – Penia – Pian Trevisan

Medium difficulty route that runs through the upper Val di Fassa, passing through the hamlets of Alba and Penia, until you reach the hotel / restaurant Villetta Maria, classic excursion starting point towards Fedaia lake and Marmolada.

Monte dei Pini – Ledro

After a climb in the woods, the landscape opens and the view is free to range from the surrounding mountains to Lake Ledro.

Marocche (Cross Country) – Valle di Ledro

All in all a simple and accessible tour for many, which winds from Arco on the two sides of the Sarca Valley, offering several suggestive scenarios in the green.

MTB Family: routes for the whole family

Traveling on one of these MTB trails with the whole family can be a fun and unforgettable experience, in full contact with nature, che incoraggi i vostri figli nella scoperta della natura e dell’Outdoor, encouraging them towards a healthy lifestyle. Even children can have fun on these routes, stimulating your senses and also discovering their potential. This selection of routes to do in MTB with the family it is made up of simple itineraries suitable for everyone, even for the little ones.

Pozza di Fassa

It is a short and rather easy path, suitable for those unfamiliar with MTB, which develops entirely along the external perimeter of the town of Pozza di Fassa, yes on municipal roads than on forest roads.

Woods lake Coredo -Val di Non

Mainly flat route, also suitable for children, in the area of ​​the lakes and pine forests of Coredo and Tavon. The itinerary has very short sections of ascent, partly unpaved and partly asphalted, but always in excellent condition. Absence of traffic and numerous support points, of refreshment and recreation along the way.

Drena and the chestnuts (Cross Country) – Garda Trentino

A short ring within everyone's reach, in a rural area to be discovered, on the left side of the Sarca Valley. A tour of approx 8 kilometers with little more than 300 vertical metres, without any technical difficulty, between the peaceful valley of Cavedine and the chestnut woods towards Braila.

If you are an MTB expert and are looking for an experience full MTB you can enjoy the TOP Trails offered by the Trentino area and venture out to discover the most demanding and technical routes, where measured by savoring full contact with the territory: challenging off road climbs, breathtaking descents and fast flows in the woods.

Val di Fassa Classic

This is the original route of one of the most famous national MTB races, Val di Fassa Bike, scheduled for the second Sunday of September.
The race track starts from Moena, reaches the beautiful panoramic balcony of the Alpe di Lusia, it descends to the bottom of the valley e, passing through Soraga, Pozza and Vigo di Fassa, returns to the finish line in Moena.

Tognola DH DUE – San Martino di Castrozza

Steeper and more demanding than the DH Tre variant, this track descends below the line of the Tognola cableway in the direction of the walls of the Tognola Uno slope, towards Malga Crel. The track boasts beyond 7 wooden structures and a bridge to cross the road in the final part, to add a little more adrenaline to the Gravity offer of the San Martino Bike Arena!

Climbing Cornetto – Alpe Cimbra – Folgaria Lavarone – Luserna

From Folgaria, firmly in the saddle, we face the wooded southern slope of Mount Cornetto and for centuries-old forest paths we go higher and higher, up to altitude 1600 m. fatigue? Certain, but it's worth it, the view from this point is magnificent, among the largest in Trentino, comes to grasp the mountains overlooking Lake Garda! And then, you know, after the ascent there is the descent. And it's a real fun to put on a long dirt road that takes us down, up to altitude 1340 m, at the Sommo Pass.
